Silke is a Research Technician supporting the in vivo mouse phenotyping work of Gareth’s group and other groups within the IMSR.
After completing her PhD in Microbiology, Silke worked in technical sales before joining the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Brimingham as a Research Technician in 2009. Since joining the Institute of Metabolism and Systems Research in 2018 the focus of her work has been the investigation of mouse energy metabolism in musculoskeletal disease and diabetes. When not busy with mouse work Silke organises the technical side of the lab.
